My story

Shorty Max is a super fun boy looking for his perfect home! His estimated DOB is guessed to be around 1/2022 and he weighs just under 30lbs (what a great size!). Max's dna came back as 31% Am Staff, 24% Am Pit Bull, 22% Chi with a splash of Poodle! Shorty Max currently lives with another pooch who he does great with and also lives with a kitty who he coexists with. He is a very happy and outgoing little guy who has learned several commands (Come, Leave it, Wait, Sit, Down). He is an active boy who loves cuddling and petting. He is super food motivated. He jumps and dances for his breakfast and dinner. He can sit up to get his belly rubbed. He is an amazing jumper – he can jump up 3 feet easily. Max is crate and housetrained. He does need to be let out several times a day for potty and watched to be sure he goes as he can get distracted. Max is fairly reliable in the house. He loves to play with toys both by himself and with other dogs. He loves to chew bones, balls, and stuffed animals, but never furniture or anything else. Max has encountered many dogs (different size and breeds) during walks, at Home Depot, Pet Smart, etc. and is typically very social meeting them. Max enjoys going out and about with his fosterparents and will need regular exercise. He is active and loves to chase birds, lizards, whatever moves. He is competitive and plays hard, chasing balls, tugging ropes, etc. He would be happier if the family has a decent-sized fenced yard; however, it should be well secured as he is quite smart to find a space to wander off. Initially Max was nervous getting into the car at the beginning. Now he loves to ride in the car and take a long trip. He also loves to ride on our RTV. Shorty Max even does well at the vet and all the staff just fall in love with his cuteness! Please email right away if you would like to learn more about this dog......and visit our website www.siarescuers.org to learn more about our rescue group. Adoption fees range from $350-$475 for dogs. THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTERCARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. EMAIL is the best way to reach us. We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Shorty Max!, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
