Bambi Duplin

My story

Oh deer, that’s a cute pup right there! My name is Bambi, and if you’re looking for someone to cuddle and snuggle every day, step right up! I’m an approx 2 year old female and I weigh ~50 lbs. I was underweight when I was rescued by Peak Lab Rescue, so I will need someone to help me get some groceries! I am spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. I am heartworm positive, but I don’t let that stop me one bit. I am taking meds (I currently have no activity restrictions,) then I’ll need my adopter to take me to our vet partner for my heartworm treatment. Once that’s finished, I’ll need a few weeks of rest, and I’ll feel better than I’ve ever have. I live in a foster home with a 6 year old lab mix, 2 cats, a human toddler and a newborn baby! Talk about exposure to anything and everything. I am learning to get along with everyone in the home and be part of a family. I like other dogs and I’m interested in playing with them, but I’m working on learning that it’s okay to share the humans. The cats scare me and I run the other direction. Cats determine the cat/dog relationship so if they’re cool, I’m cool! I really like kids and my foster mom could see me being best friends with one furever. I get spooked easily, so if I were to live with kids, they must be able to go calm and slow like everyone else. I am a low energy dog indoors, but I perk up by getting zoomies outside. Foster Mom thinks I’ll feel SO much more better once my heart worms are treated. I can be skittish when we first meet, but give me a few days I’ll come around. If you can give me time, love, and help with “how to dog”, we’ll be set for love for a lifetime. I’d love to learn to play with toys and go on adventures with you.
