My story

Are you looking for a goofy boy with an underbite and only a few brain cells? We thought you might be- Jack is the perfect boy for you!! Jack is a super goofy and slightly uncoordinated boy who loves cuddles and playing! He was found as a stray by cops and hitched a ride to the shelter. Since getting here, he has brought many smiles to the faces of staff and volunteers, who love his larger than life cuddles and silly antics. Jack is now available for adoption at ACCT Philly. You can meet him any day from 10am-6pm. Video: Jack and Jewel: https://youtu.be/egcDXSlOE8I Jack loves to play: https://youtu.be/bBEh1fz0VUo Jack gets pets: https://youtube.com/shorts/Fk_CMqVqrG0?si=Qrm9I2FKVN697Uc6 Playing with Jack; https://youtube.com/shorts/Ym5yc5S7KFc?si=CO1-0jGmoNwgP8L1 Jack plays fetch: https://youtube.com/shorts/it0CJYBRkRI?si=TIF8JAINoxXvbnDu Jack, Duce, Bodie, Chance, Zakari, and Thunder: https://youtube.com/shorts/qy7GZ_x7uSk?feature=share Behavior: Per Volunteer 5/11/25: Jack had his face squished right up to the kennel door when I approached, with a very loose and wiggly body. He was very easy to leash. He walks with moderate pulling so would suggest a harness. When we got to the play yard, there was another dog in there- he sniffed her through the fence and was very loose and wiggly. Very interested in saying hi to people he passed, eagerly pulling towards them. He has a ridiculous underbite lol. Take treats, very gently out out of my hand. Met female dog named Jewel- he approached very eagerly pulling towards her with a wagging mid level tail. Great sniffs and some jumpy play. Super treat motivated and medium/high energy in the play yard. Super playful boy- he loves chasing toys and shaking them around in his mouth! No guarding that I saw. Took some pets from me, but was more interested in playing than handling. After five minutes or so he was much more calm sniffing around the play yard. Such a good boy! BEHAVIOR EVALUATION 5/10/25: Jack KNOWN HISTORY: Stray KENNEL PRESENTATION: When I approached the kennel, Jack was standing on his cot in the front of the kennel. He had soft eyes and a mid level tail wag. He was whining. I opened the kennel door and was able to easily leash him. LEASH: Jack pulls strongly on leash. He gets easily distracted and stubbornly wants to direct his handler. HANDLING: Initially in the play yard, Jack started by sniffing and quickly found the toys. He started playing by himself and with the handler. He is very jumpy, particularly when the handler has toys or treats. He does solicit attention and allowed petting all over. He moves around quickly, seemingly not aware of his size or surroundings. When returning to the kennel, he was interested in other dogs in their kennels. He walked up towards all the dogs and needed redirection. He returned to his kennel with no issue. PLAY & TOY: Jack seems very interested in toys, particularly stuffed toys and balls. He will play on his own. He also engaged in fetch. He does not easily release toys or trade for treats. He would trade toys for another toy. When the handler got a hold of the toy, he was jumpy to attempt to get it and when thrown he went right after it. He showed no interest in a hard bone. COLOR LEVEL & ANY RECOMMENDATIONS: Blue Play group 5/6/25: Vertical play, not steerable, needed correction from handlers to slow down, Pushy, SM at times Per Staff 5/4/25: Goofy good boy who enjoys attention ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week. Please visit www.acctphilly.org/adopt for details. If you are a rescue interested in pulling this animal, please email our lifesaving team, or visit here if you are not currently a rescue partner: https://acctphilly.org/acct-philly-love-local-partnership-program/ Confirmed placement is considered a confirmation of an actual rescue pull. Possible placement, interested parties, and other "TBD" statuses are not considered confirmed and do not indicate an animal is no longer urgent. All animals at ACCT Philly are from Philadelphia, as the only open-intake animal shelter in Philadelphia, we are not able to accept animals from outside of Philadelphia. ACCT Philly’s Pennsylvania kennel license number is 08313
