My story

Don’t let his scruffy, pint-sized cuteness fool you-Lumiere is basically a retired librarian in a terrier’s body. He's a softy inside, but he’s got opinions, he’s got boundaries, and he’s not here for chaotic energy or unsolicited head pats. Lumiere is what we lovingly call a “grumpy old man”. He’s not going to leap into your arms and call you BFF within five minutes. In fact, he’s still not 100% sold on this whole "world" thing. New people? Suspicious. Loud noises? Offensive. Sudden movements? Absolutely not. But give him a little time, a lot of patience, and maybe a bribe or two (treats, not cash), and you’ll start to see his softer, happier, sassier side emerge. Children? Hard pass. He’s looking for a low-drama household with grown-ups who get the “please don’t touch me until I say so” memo. Other dogs? Maybe! But only after a proper introduction and probably a vibe check, too. Lumiere is also a talker. Oh, he’s got things to say. He’ll keep you updated on neighborhood activity, doorbell drama, and possibly his thoughts on your choice of socks. He’s the kind of dog who’d absolutely host a podcast called “Barks and Boundaries.” Despite his cautious nature, deep down Lumiere is a lap dog who wants to trust you—he just needs to know you’re not a weirdo first. Once he feels safe, he’ll curl up next to you, throw in a little tail wag, and maybe even fall asleep on your lap like the secretly sweet snugglebug he is.
