My story

Meet Melvin, a 2-year-old Frenchie mix with a stunning brown merle coat and a stocky, lovable build—this handsome guy tips the scales at 47 pounds of pure charm. Melvin is the definition of a sweetheart. Whether he’s lounging contentedly on his bed in the lobby or happily tossing around his favorite toys, he’s always easy to love and fun to watch. Melvin is a clean boy who keeps his kennel spotless, which is a promising sign that he may already be housetrained. He walks well on a leash and is a big fan of car rides, making him a great companion for all your adventures. One of his favorite things in the world is toys—he entertains himself like a champ but is even happier when someone joins in the fun to toss them for him. He also knows "sit" and is eager to show off his skills for a treat or a little praise. During an overnight stay with a foster, Melvin proved he’s a quiet and respectful houseguest, sleeping through the night without a sound.  Melvin is ready to bring love, laughter, and a whole lot of joy to his forever home. Could it be yours? His minimum adoption fee is $400 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
