Cami Cami Cami, oh do we love this perfect girl SO much. Not only is she one of a kind with so many great qualities about her but she absolutely adores kids! This girl was born to be a family dog and born to be your couch princess. One of her favorite things to do is rub herself on the couch and push the pillows off! She could just do it for hours. She was fantastic with every dog she met and even got caught on the "kiss cam" with one of her boyfriend's Camo! She is such an affectionate little lady she can't help but share the love. Cami also is a little fashionista and loved playing dress up. She let us dress her up in a little yellow bandana, and she was practically begging us to put it on! Lifting her head up and looking at us with her pretty eyes! She's already looking forward to being the guest of honor at your little girl's princess themed tea party! Watch Cami's video and fall in love with her like we all are: https://youtu.be/5p2cBJVEOSY?si=7YPTVu3uC7DbKctF Cami is a pittie/lab mix approximately 5 years old and currently weighs 49 lbs. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. One thing we know about Cami and what we know is going to happen with you the second that you meet her is she is quickly going to become your favorite topic in every conversation, your favorite hello the second you walk through the door, and your kids best friend. Cami has been around kids ages 4-5 and she immediately took to them and vice versa. She was so happy and content sitting next to Eleanor (the 5 year old) while she was petting her and just loved being in her presence. She took treats so gently from both of the kids, never once jumped on them for affection, and was very gentle with them when she did ask them for affection. Cami would simply lean in for hugs and give both of them gentle kisses. She also did amazing when a strange man walked into the room unexpectedly and immediately went up to him, tail wagging, and inching her way in close and close for affection. She also really loved when he was scratching behind her ears. She loves ear scratches. If you have kids and are looking for a companion for your little ones, Cami is definitely your girl! Cami is a really chill girl deep down! She warmed up to us here at TLP very quickly, and she was eager for our affection! We could see Cami living her life as a couch surfing queen. She is a good girl on her leash, and she’s not reactive either. We think she could be an awesome apartment dog because regular walks outside or down to the local park would be easy for her! Cami could live with canine companions, or she would be perfectly content being your one and only! When meeting other dogs, Cami would greet and sniff and then just kind of go off and do her own thing or hangout with the people in the yard. She had no issue sharing affection with pushier pups. The perfect sibling for her? A male dog that is medium to low energy who wants to chill around the house and that could be open to play every now and then. She shared treats and affection wonderfully with friends. We are very impressed with her! Kitties are just so exciting for Cami, she would want to play chase with them— so no feline friends for this one! So, what do you say, will you be her family? We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
