My story

Meet Mookie! Mookie is an 18-month-old neutered male Labrador Retriever, weighing in at 65 lbs. This energetic and driven pup is on the lookout for a Search and Rescue (SAR), Detection, or Sport home where he can put his impressive skills to good use. About Mookie: Highly Driven: Mookie thrives on working collaboratively with his humans to achieve goals. Skilled Searcher: He has well-developed live human search skills and a trained final response "bark alert." Training in Progress: Mookie is currently honing his recall, heeling, long wait, and other essential behaviors to ensure success in a working placement. Social: Mookie is great with people and other dogs, making him a wonderful companion. Healthy: Mookie has received full medical clearance (hip/elbow/spine xrays) and is ready for his new adventure. Adoption Details: Priority will be given to SAR adopters due to Mookie's advanced live-human search skills. We are accepting applications from SAR (non-USAR Live Find and HRD), detection, and serious performance adopters. Important: Applicants must be willing to travel to Santa Paula, CA to meet Mookie before adoption. We can't wait to find the perfect match for Mookie and his future handler!
