My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Comiskey, an absolute sweetie with a heart as big as his 100% American Bully puppy-dog eyes. He’s a 75-pound playful and loyal companion who already has a solid foundation and just needs the right environment to thrive. Comiskey currently lives with other dogs and enjoys their company—especially dogs his own size who can match his playful energy. While he will gladly share his toys and socializes well with other dogs, feeding and high-value items (like his bed or favorite chair) should be given with supervision, and separately from other pets, to set everyone up for success. Comiskey also lives in a house with young children right now, who lovingly call him by his nicknames “Potato” and “Pork Chop.” However, due to the fact that he easily startles to pretty much any type of noise or movement typical of young children, along with his tendency to guard his adults from the children, we recommend a home without kids; just adults who know how to respect a dog’s space and understand his quirks. While he will guard you with his life, he is also a peaceful dog who is not at all the type to bark at every little thing that passes by. When he isn’t exerting his young, playful side, he appreciates a serene environment where he can rest and enjoy the view. He loves his seat on the ottoman, people-watching out the front window as much as he enjoys meandering through the backyard garden, where he proudly protects the flowers from rabbits and squirrels. He is crate-trained but deserves to live with someone who will share the comfort of their bed where this snuggle bug can curl up next to you (sometimes on top of you) and give you sweet kisses. While his current family is heartbroken that they are just not able to provide the right environment for him, they know the right person/couple is out there ready to help him continue to grow into the best version of himself. Treat-motivated, eager to please, and incredibly smart, he thrives best in a home with consistent routine, clear communication, and positive reinforcement training. If you check all the boxes above, this lovable boy will be an incredible lifelong friend to you if you check all the boxes above. His adoption fee is $350 To adopt Comiskey, fill out an application at www.kakf.org/formsVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 6, 2025, 10:18 pm
