Brownie

My story

Brownie and his brother Chop are two dogs who we had received many calls about before they came to us. Unfortunately for them, they lived outside of our jurisdiction and there was nothing we could do for them. One very cold blustery winter morning while out on patrol we saw both Brownie and Chop eating trash on the side of a busy road covered in ice. We were able to load them both up with ease and bring them back to safety at the shelter. We listed them as a stray hold. After their stray hold was up, the boys were left unclaimed. It appears that at some point Brownie had been hit by a car, but was not taken to the vet to get it checked out or fixed. At this point the vet says that Brownie's leg has already healed improperly due to the owners not getting it fixed when it happened. As of right now Brownie still romps around the backyard playing and it does not seem to bother him too much. We do give him some pain meds, if it appears to bother him on rainy or cold days. At a later time in his life, Brownie may need to have this leg amputated but he can still live a long happy life.
