Submit application to meet dog if interested - yes an application is required******** Meet Gemma Rae! Gemma is a 4 year old Shih Tzu weighing around 10 pounds. Gemma is a puppy mill mama, and has had to endure more than we can tell in her short life so far, which has made her very skittish with humans and loud noises. She is a lovebug, but it will take her a little extra time to become comfortable with you. But boy-oh-boy can she get there. In the short time she has been with her foster family, she has discovered how to play with other dogs and toys! Her most favorite toy is her foster momma's slippers and shoes- and it's so funny to watch this tiny girl run away with a shoe much bigger than her! On her potty training journey, Gemma is making big strides and is slowly getting better at going potty outside. With ongoing support and patience, she is sure to master this skill. Leash training is a work in progress for Gemma- she is a little intimidated by the leash but again with patience and training we have no doubt she will learn. If you're looking for a little cuddle bug, Gemma is your girl. She will sit at your feet and stare up at you with her big beautiful eyes until you pick her up to cuddle. Gemma is hoping so much to find her forever family, and one that has another friendly dog to be her companion would be a huge bonus. Do you have room in your heart and life for this little girl? We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally we require physically fenced yard for dog/pup to play in safely. Exceptions are sometimes made to this requirement but is up to the foster and more often done for the small breed dogs. All our dogs have been treated with de-wormer; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 months or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchipped; and examined by veterinarian plus given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed at time of adoption. Dogs will be spayed/neutered thru us prior to finalizing any adoption. We provide information on dogs age and breed based on what we are told by person surrendering dog or vet's best guess. While we try our best we cannot guarantee that this information is 100% accurate and can often be best guess in case of our lovable mutts.
