Tish

My story

Tish is an adult cat that may not have had many interactions with humans from an early age. She is apprehensive of people and while showing no aggressive behaviors, she does attempt to flee or avoid human contact. It is difficult to predict if she will respond to socialization but we recommend offering high value treats and food to help build a positive association to humans. Please be mindful that older cats will require more time and skill in order for them to be comfortable around people. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.A volunteer writes: When Tish was brought to us with many other cats, we thought that she maybe didn't have as many chances to meet new people. Sitting with her tail wrapped around her, she seems to spend her days trying to understand all of her surroundings at the Care Center. This is no small feat and most of Tish's energy has gone into managing that. We've been trying to keep things quiet and calm, introducing her to new things slowly and with lots of love. We've learned that Tish accepts pets but isn't particularly enthusiastic about it. We offer different types of treats in hopes we'll find the one she likes best, and though we haven't yet found it yet, we'll keep trying. We know Tish is trying too.
