My story

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. She’s not the kind of flower you water—she’s the kind you hold, cuddle, and accidentally fall asleep next to while watching Netflix. Tulip is all about snuggling. She’ll follow you around the house like a petal-powered shadow, and if your lap is full, she’ll literally drape herself around your neck like a living scarf. Practical and adorable. Imagine this: You’re working from home. Tulip is curled on the back of your desk chair, gently placing her head on your shoulder like the world's fluffiest paperweight. You’re watching a movie. Tulip is curled beside you, sighing like she’s starring in a French indie film. You’re walking through your neighborhood. Tulip struts politely on leash, nodding at the world like, “Yes, I am this cute. Thank you for noticing.” Tulip’s Stats: Sleeps great in a crate, on a chair, or ideally somewhere touching you Fully house-trained (though loud surprises may result in a little stage fright—she once peed when her foster screamed while burning herself cooking... fair reaction, honestly) Loves gentle brushing, petting, and compliments about how pretty she is Good on leash, happy with short walks and garden romps Gets along with all dogs, but not super interested in play—she’s more “let’s coexist in harmony” than “let’s wrestle for six hours” Cat-compatible if the cats aren’t doing jazz hands across the room Loves being close to people but isn’t needy—she’ll just quietly make herself your most loyal armrest Bonus Features: Will share her food without fuss (but will not share your unattended snacks—she’s not that polite) Doesn’t chew, doesn’t dig, doesn’t destroy—just chills Barks only occasionally, usually when big dogs are showing off on the sidewalk A+ nail trimming behavior. Yes, she’s that unicorn dog. Tulip’s Ideal Home: Calm, quiet, and full of cozy places to curl up. She’d love a human who works from home or just enjoys a good movie marathon. She’s not built for chaos, but she thrives in peaceful, loving company.
