Loulee: Loulee is the sweetest, most gentle man! He is super vocal, and super playful, and he loves to be brushed. He is extremely affectionate and loves a gentle pet while he lays on top of you. In his foster home he was great about asking for space when he needed it. A cat-savvy adopter will be able to read his cues and give him space to make choices. However, it is agreed that he has CHARM. Between his head tilt and sweet disposition, he will make a great roommate in a quiet household. Loulee is unable to use covered litter boxes due to mobility limitations. He does best with a low-sided litter box. He cannot manage stairs, as he is prone to falling at this time. His foster limited his areas so that he would not be stuck, or fall from jumping on or off furniture. Loulee has limited vision, which means he will need support while adjusting to new environments. Despite these challenges, he is very loving, and enjoys being brushed and eagerly awaits each brushing session. Loulee tested positive for Feline Virus (FIV+). His test showed a high DNA load, which indicates progressive FIV. It is an incurable viral disease that is spread between cats through body fluid exposure including mutual grooming, bite wounds, shared bowls, and from mother to kitten. Cats with progressive infections will become sick from FIV+, resulting in severe anemia, weight loss, and immune suppression that increases susceptibility to infections, inflammatory conditions, and certain cancers. These types of FIV+ infections are fatal and testing positive for FIV is associated with a reduced lifespan. It is not recommended that FIV positive cats enter multi-cat homes with FIV-negative cats due to risk of spread via fluid contact. It is recommended that the adopter follow up with their primary veterinarian for confirmatory testing and on-going monitoring and management of this condition. COMPATIBILITY:Dogs: Possibly, with a slow introductionCats: Not at this time due to FIV+ results, BUT could live with another FIV+ cat!Kids: Yes!
