Say hello to Shawnee, a two-year-old sweetheart with the soul of a wise old lady wrapped in a young cat’s body. Shawnee was rescued from a hoarding situation, but you’d never guess it—she’s bounced back with grace and is now all about the simple joys: soft beds, warm sunbeams, and quiet cuddles. This gentle girl has a soft, soothing purr and a charming little voice—she’s always ready for a friendly chat and some good company. Her foster mom says it best: “She’s an easy foster—so sweet. You sit down and she comes right over, ready for snuggles and love.” Whether you're working from home or winding down with a book, Shawnee is the ultimate lap cat—always ready to settle in and stay close. Shawnee is FIV+, but don’t let that intimidate you. It doesn’t require medication or special care—it just means her immune system needs a little extra love. As an indoor cat, she’s at low risk and ready to live a full, happy life. If your perfect day includes a warm cuddle buddy, quiet companionship, and the occasional cat conversation, Shawnee is your girl. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.
