My story

Hi! I'm Louie! I was rescued at Peninsula Humane Society. Let me be honest with you, I am truly a charming and fun cat, but also have a naughty side to me. Let me tell you how awesome I am first. I am a sweet, playful, and energetic young cat. When you come home, I’ll run to greet you at the door with cuddles and kisses. I adore playing with moving objects, especially wand toys. I thrive in a setting where humans can commit their energy to playing with and stimulating me. I also enjoy relaxing and watching humans do chores around me. I’m not particularly vocal but make it clear when I want to play interactively with the humans around me. I love being around humans; I’m comfortable and outgoing when meeting new humans. When sleepy, I always find myself purring in someone’s lap and enjoying pets and head-rubs. I’ll frequently place a gentle paw on my companion’s arms and cheeks to let them know I want more chin rubs. I also appreciate being groomed with a brush while I relax. I can sometimes become a little overstimulated so I need a family who respects this. I am extremely smart and am easy to train with clicker training. I know how to sit, high five, jump on command, and spin; currently, I’m learning to wait and stay before getting a treat placed on the floor in front of me. I’m highly inquisitive and love investigating all the nooks and crannies inside and observing all the activity outside through the window. Despite my inquisitiveness, I’m respectful of furniture and avoid scratching or chewing on objects around the home — besides my designated scratching posts. I love sitting atop my perch on a couch or table where I can see the activities going on around me. I would also appreciate a larger living space, no studio apartments for me. I’m 98% charming gentleman, 2% spicy chaos goblin. Let’s get this out of the way: yes, I’ve got a bit of a mischievous streak. But can you really blame a brilliant, energetic guy like me for getting a little… enthusiastic when I’m bored? I grew up as a solo cat, so I missed out on learning some of those polite kitty manners from feline friends. The result? Occasionally I get a bit grabby or give a love nibble that’s just a touch too much. But listen — when I’ve got enough playtime, enrichment, and someone who can set some clear boundaries? I shine. Big time. My foster says I need a confident human who won’t let me call all the shots (as much as I’d love to). Someone who sees past my little flaws and knows how to channel my big personality into fun and affection. Think of me as your sassy sidekick — never boring, always entertaining, and full of love (and a few dramatic flair moments). Other cats? Hmm… let’s just say I’m selective, but I am enjoying hanging with my new foster buddy, Frankie.  At first, I was all “absolutely not” on the feline roommate front. But surprise! Turns out, in my foster home I can hang with other cats — as long as they’re confident enough to handle all this fabulous energy. I’m not looking for a shy wallflower, okay? Honestly, I could go either way. I’d thrive as your one and only, basking in the spotlight, or I could vibe with a bold, no-nonsense cat who knows how to play and set boundaries. Either way, what I really need is a forever family who gets me — someone who sees the sparkle in my sass and is ready to help me polish up my manners (with love, playtime, and maybe the occasional treat bribe). Think you can handle a little mischief with your cuddles? Then we might just be soulmates. Are you ready to be the boss of me? Good. Now let’s talk adoption.   You can see more of me in my foster home here @buttlickers_anonymous and more of me here @purrfect_purrminators and here @cousin_louie_the_cat.
