My story

Socksy is looking for a hospice home. He was transferred to the NHSPCA from an overcrowded shelter in Texas. This senior gentleman is an absolute doll! He is friendly, cuddly, and loves to be with people. Socksy is an expert biscuit maker and thoroughly enjoys kneading any soft surface, but most especially a fleecy blanket. He is looking for a warm lap to cuddle up on, snuggly beds, and perhaps a sunny window perch where he can watch birds and squirrels outside his window. Unfortunately, once arriving to the NHSPCA, it was discovered Socksy had Peritoneopericardial diaphragmatic hernia (PPDH). It is a congenital anomaly where abdominal contents pass through a defect in the diaphragm and pericardium into the chest cavity. It was surgically repaired, but unfortunately, has returned, though at a lesser scale. He is clinically doing well and is looking for someone who wants to help a special needs cat, for however long he has left. Socksy is a fabulous fellow who cannot wait to finally have someone to love & spoil him as he deserves!
