My story

Meet Chantel! 🐾 Chantel, a bright-eyed Blue Heeler mix puppy with a heart full of curiosity and a tail that never stops wagging. Chantel is at that classic puppy stage—full of life, eager to explore, and always ready for the next adventure. With her herding breed roots, she’s naturally intelligent, alert, and full of boundless energy that will need healthy outlets through play, exercise, and mental stimulation. As with any young pup, Chantel will need time, structure, and patient training to help her grow into the well-mannered dog she’s meant to be. She’s learning about the world one pawstep at a time and will thrive in a home that’s committed to guiding her with love, consistency, and positive reinforcement. Socialization and basic obedience training will go a long way in helping her become confident and well-adjusted. Chantel would do best with an active person or family who can match her energy and enjoy all the fun that comes with raising a puppy. Whether it’s long walks, games of fetch, or working on tricks in the backyard, Chantel will be happiest when she’s engaged and included. She has all the potential to become a loyal, loving companion—and plenty of puppy antics to keep you smiling along the way. If you’re ready for the joys and challenges of puppyhood and have room in your heart and home for a lively new best friend, Chantel might just be the perfect match. The shelter is open Tuesday through Friday from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, and on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A meet-and-greet is required for all shelter dogs 6 months and older if you already have a dog. Thank you for considering the adoption of a shelter animal in need!
