My story

Sal is a gentle soul with a shy heart. He is still learning that the world isn’t so scary, especially when new people are involved - but when he is with another dog, something magical happens. His tail wags, his body relaxes, and his playful side starts to shine.While Sal is still too nervous to leave his kennel for walks with unfamiliar people, he's made strong connections with staff members he knows and trusts. Once you're in his circle, you’ll see just how sweet and loving he can be. He’s also very clean in his kennel, which may indicate he’ll do well with house training in a home environment.Sal would likely thrive in a calm, patient home with another dog who can show him the ropes and help build his confidence. If you have a quiet home and a big heart, Sal might just be the companion you didn’t know you needed. Sal is 8 months old and weighs over 50 pounds.The adoption fee for adult dogs, seven months and older, is $250. All pets are microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will be altered prior to adoption. If you are interested in meeting a dog, please stop by the shelter during open hours. Dogs may be in a foster home, therefore scheduling an appointment is recommended. If you have an existing dog at home, we recommend bringing it along to meet your possible new family member.helpingstrays.org
