Meet Amiri! Amiri is believed to be a Carolina Dog / Labrador mix. At 2 years old and 36 pounds, Amiri is the perfect sized companion. She has a heart full of love and a tail that seriously never stops wagging. She’s a petite gal with a big personality—equal parts sweet, playful, and snuggly. Amiri brings joy and smiles wherever she goes. She makes friends with every dog she meets, and happily greets strangers with her enthusiastic, wiggly body. From Amiri's foster: "This girl is SO sweet!!! She has a good amount of energy and loves to play, run, and bounce around in the yard. She would love an active adopter, or even just one that likes to play with her. She LOVES to play with toys, and tug-o-war with a rope toy is her FAVORITE game! I swear her tail never stops wagging - she LOVES people and doesn't know a stranger. On walks, she will walk up to anyone we pass, wagging her tail so hard that her whole backside wags with it and greets them. She does well with other dogs too - she makes doggy friends with ease and loves to play with other dogs. She even does well with dogs smaller than her! She is SUCH a good girl!!! While she is VERY friendly, I think if she were to go to a home with kids, they should be 12 or older because she is bouncy and playful and may knock over a small kid. Though she doesn't have a mean bone in her body -- it would be all playful!" We don’t know if Amiri has had any formal training, but a (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class will help her build confidence, bond with his new family, and master good manners. Training is essential for a successful adoption, and Farfel’s is happy to provide a list of recommended force-free trainers to set her up for success. Amiri has been fully vetted, is up to date on vaccines, and spayed. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. If you are interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ . **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Amiri, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
