Dama is a beautiful 10-month-old girl that is as sweet, kind and loving as you can find. She weighs approximately 43.2 lbs and we do not believe she is getting any bigger. ` Dama was found along the Texas/Mexico border by a good Samaritan who took her in. Unfortunately, that was short lived. We helped get her fixed and returned Dama, and the good Samaritan said if she’s dropped back off at her house, she will just dump back on the streets. And YES, the same day she was spayed! We were shocked, deeply saddened and were not expecting a good deed to go south like this. Thankfully, a foster of ours stepped up and offered to take her in. We could not see Dama get dumped back on the streets, 15 minutes from Mexico, where she was sure not to survive recovery after her spay. Dama is a very good dog. She is a little bit energetic, but what 10-month-old puppy isn’t? She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, big and small. She loves to play with them and is very gentle with the smaller ones. The foster also has cats and as you can see in the video, was introduced to one and she was more shocked at what that creature was than anything. She wanted to play with the kitty towards the end, so please allow for slow introductions to any cats in the home so Dama can learn how to be with them. Dama is very gentle on her leash and on walks. She does not pull you. She can get very excited but with quick correction and redirection, listens right away. She is house and crate trained and has no accidents. Dama isn’t a fan of fences and can clear a 3 foot one inside the house that blocks doorways, so please be aware a taller fence, or no fence with lots of activity/walks/dog parks/hiking trails is a must. Dama loves children, mainly because they play with her. She loves her toys and is very sweet around the children. No issues at all. Dama is spayed, heart worm negative, current on vaccinations, current on heartworm and flea/tick prevention, microchipped and will receive a clean bill of health from a veterinarian prior to adoption. To apply to adopt Dama you can do so on our website at www.pawsitive-impact-animal-rescue.org
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Dama, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
