My story

KATNISS Attributes Good w/dogs Requires another dog Not good with cats Apartment friendly Good on car rides Fence jumper Housetrained Good with kids Potties on leash Lovely Katniss is around 4 -5 years old and weighs about 25 pounds. She is a total “people beagle,” and her idea of the perfect day is spending time on the couch snuggling in the laps of her family. Katniss also loves to play with her toys and makes it her mission to hide them wherever she can for safekeeping! True to beagle form, when walking, she is 100% nose to the ground, seeking out all of the wonderful smells the world has to offer. According to her foster mom, she is “1000%” a food-driven counter surfer, so all those tasty treats must be stored securely out of her reach! But unlike most beagles, Katniss isn’t one to sing the song of her people – she isn’t inclined to bark very much. Katniss would benefit from formal training to learn to channel her energy. She needs a family who will provide consistent guidance and reinforcement of good behavior. This little girl enjoys the company of adults, children, and other dogs. She can be anxious, so she would prefer a family that is home most of the time. She seems to have a strong prey drive, so a home without cats would be best. A family with a dog who can model confident behavior would be a plus. Katniss rides well in the car while crated, but otherwise doesn’t enjoy spending much time in a crate. She’s housetrained with the use of a doggy door, and at night she sleeps contentedly in her bed. Katniss can’t wait to find her forever family.
