My story

Meet Max! This sweet old man has the cutest frosted face and absolutely lights up when you call his name. No reason was given when Max's former owner left him behind at the shelter, but you know instantly upon meeting him that he is so full of love and life. Max loves attention and being around his people, whether he's snuggling with them or just keeping tabs as they go about their day. A big foodie, he closely supervises their preparation of his meals and lets them know if they aren't providing timely service. Max is great with other dogs and gives his foster siblings the biggest greetings when they come in from outside. Max is the perfect wingman for outings - he loves riding in the car and walks well on the leash. He also loves exploring his foster's fenced-in yard and smelling all the smells. He's almost fully housetrained and knows how to use pee pads indoors. Max is looking for a home that's generally calm and quiet and can provide him with a consistent routine. He's very smart and catches on quickly once he knows his household's schedule! He does well with older children and is content to stay home alone while his humans are out as long as there's a comfy bed to snooze on. He can manage a couple of stairs but is hoping to avoid having to climb long staircases. Max is being treated for an ear infection which should resolve soon, but he's a little hard of hearing. He has a heart murmur that is currently under evaluation and may require some medication long-term.
