My story

Cash was surrendered in Texas, and we were able to transport him to Nebraska. He is the most chill and laid-back dog. He got along with all the female dogs in foster care. Recently, we found that he does not appreciate male dogs, he was adopted and returned within 24 hours.. It was in a new environment and due to that, he should have been fed in a kennel or separate room and had an altercation with the male dog. We can't really say it's due to the gender or just needs to be fed separately but it was on day one that this altercation occured so best to err on the side of caution.. He definitely should be fed separately, not the same room, another closed off room or a kennel. In foster care he was fed in a kennel and there were no issues at all, however, the male dog in the house is separated from younger fosters and he was not exposed to him aside from side by side kennels. There was not any issues between them while in their kennels in his foster home. Now for all the fuzzy happy stuff! Cash is super sweet, he's calm, and just wants a soft dog bed or couch, plenty of food for his growing 133 pound massive size, and lots of love. He is fully houebroken and will let you know when he is needing to go out. He's been around cats and where he is interested in them, he hasn't posed any threat to them. In Texas they did a quick test with different livestock and he also seemed fine but we, of course, do not know him well enough to say for sure. He corrects well and definitely has a very curious mind. We do not want the one altercation to define him. It's very important when introducing a new dog that certain precautions are taken, especially when feeding or giving treats. The adopters did have young children and he was very good with them and did the usual GP guarding as they walked around to be sure he was keeping an eye on them. We have all good to report about him and one negative thing but we feel transparency is vital to get him a successful and longterm home. If you know this breed, he's a great one. Are you the one for Cash?

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Cash, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
