Location: Maple Lake, MN This is Wheaties, truly the definition of a good boy despite his hard beginning! Wheaties came into rescue in rougher shape and ended up needing to amputate his front leg. He has since recovered and is thriving as a tripod and is so loving towards everyone he meets. He also has a calm demeanor. Wheaties is potty trained and doesn't need a kennel (not destructive and sleeps on his dog bed or couch when you're gone). He is also great with kids and other dogs! I would also guess that he would do just fine with cats because he's pretty chill (he has not actually been cat tested). He also loves any scratches/pets and will snuggle with you. Once he learns you are his person/people, he will follow you around too. Since he is a tripod now, he is 'low energy' and hasn't been taken on short walks yet since he has been recovering. Because of this, his family will have to be considerate of how much he eats so he doesn't become overweight and put extra strain on his joints. He would love a home that gives him a yard for mental enrichment to compensate for the lack of walks so he can watch birds, squirrels, and sunbathe. *He is still learning how to play with toys. I cannot emphasize how incredible he is and he really is the diamond in the rough. Apply to meet him; I think you will quickly fall in love with him too! --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Wheaties, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
