My story

Meet Sophie! A 4 year old Bernedoodle. Sophie is a shy, sweet soul who is just beginning to step out of her shell. Though still quite timid and not yet ready for pets or cuddles, she’s making slow and steady progress each day. She walks beautifully on a leash and is starting to respond to her name with gentle tail wags and cautious curiosity. Sophie is still learning the ins and outs of home life—literally! She can be nervous going through doorways and is working on her house training, but she’s a champ with pee pads. She’s very food motivated and definitely has a gourmet palate: wet food and eggs are her absolute favorites, and she’ll pick around dry kibble to find the good stuff. Counter-surfing is a habit she’s picked up, so she’ll need a home that can help her learn good manners and keep temptation out of reach. She’s also very particular about her treats—you’ll know quickly what’s a hit and what’s a pass! Sophie is curious about other dogs but prefers calmer canine companions. Hyper or overly enthusiastic dogs can make her nervous, so a mellow buddy or a quiet home where she can continue to build confidence would be ideal. Sophie is looking for a patient, understanding family who will give her the time and space she needs to blossom. With love and consistency, this girl is sure to shine. She is fostered in Gardiner.
