My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Poppy is an eager and happy terrier mix girl, guessed to be around 2.5-3 years old.  She is currently in a foster home that she settled into very quickly as she is eager to make her humans happy. She happily hangs out with the cats in her foster home while they sunbathe and even tries to join in on their playtimes! Poppy would do well as a single dog or in a household with another dog/cat, we don't think she has a preference as long as someone is willing to share their lap with her! Poppy does well when recalled but she is still scared of big, loud things— although she is getting better! We are currently working on not chasing the bikes in her foster moms neighborhood but other than this Poppy walks very well on the leash once she gets her first few minutes of excitement out of her system. Poppy puts her harness on easily but still shows hesitance to over-the-head collars or clothes, but with practice and patience we are getting better :) Poppy does have strong legs and jumps very high, so her forever home should have a tall fence or she must be securely leashed outside as her fear of big, loud, things wouldn't make her a reliable candidate for being an off leash dog. She doesn't show any signs of possessiveness to people, food, toys, other animals, or any other resources, and enjoys being held. So far Poppy has learned to sit, laydown and spin! Likes: •bully sticks/ chew toys •tennis balls / fetch games  •car rides! •digging holes  •rolling in the grass/ in carpet •napping with her humans ♥&#239&#184&#143 Dislikes: •bath time! Grooming makes me nervous, I'm working on not being so scared! •big trucks/loud noises/power tools… but foster mom is working on it and is seeing improvements! •bicycles! I like to bark and try to chase them!  Poppy's adoption fee is $250 and includes her spay, microchip, current vaccines and heartworm testing.  Poppy is seeking a home as an indoor dog only, if you would like to meet her please submit an adoption application through our website, Adopthope.org.  Last Hope requires that adopters who have had animals have a history of having kept them altered, kept current on annual vaccines and as indoor pets only. Our adoption process includes a vet history check and a home visit.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 13, 2025, 3:13 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Poppy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
