My story

Kovu is devastatingly handsome. Like, “Is that a supermodel or a cat?” levels of good-looking. Piercing baby blue eyes, luscious fur, and the confident swagger of a feline who knows he’s got it going on. But beneath that jawline lies... a bad boy past. That’s right—Kovu has a record. A bite record. He’s basically the James Dean of the cat world: misunderstood, wild at heart, and occasionally uses his teeth to express his feelings. Raised as an only kitten, Kovu didn’t get the memo that biting your friends mid-snuggle is not socially acceptable. But here’s the good news—he’s learning! In his foster home, we’ve discovered something incredible: Kovu is a total lovebug when he has the right outlet. With a playful cat friend or two (or even a respectful dog buddy), he channels his energy into wrestling matches and zoomie sessions instead of ambushing your ankles. And when he’s had his fun? He’s sweet as pie. He follows his foster mom around the house like a tiny fuzzy supervisor, cheering her on as she folds laundry or waters plants. He loves a good sunspot nap, and a catio setup is his idea of heaven—simple to order online or already perfect if you’ve got a Florida room. This boy lives for morning cuddles, birdwatching, lounging on his cat tree, and vibing until dinner. Then he’ll call out dramatically to remind you it’s time to fill the dish. Kovu has learned to tell you when he’s had enough affection, and these days? The teeth are mostly retired—because now he knows how it feels to be bitten (thanks to his feline foster siblings). Poetic justice, really. What Kovu Needs:- A cat-savvy home that gets him, quirks and all.- A playful, confident cat friend to wrestle with (save your hands!)- Someone who sees past the “bad boy” rep and straight into his gorgeous little soul.- Bonus points if you have a catio, sunbeam access, or simply love to be stared at from the top of a cat tree.Kovu isn’t a starter cat. He’s a once-in-a-lifetime, slightly dramatic, heartbreakingly beautiful, reformed biter turned house-panther-softie. His eyes will melt your heart. His backstory will make you want to wrap him in bubble wrap and protect him forever. And his transformation? Chef’s kiss.Adopt Kovu and give this stunning rogue the forever home he deserves. Reach out to meet him today!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Kovu, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
