My story

Bree is an extra special three legged little girl, but she has no idea she is any different from her foster furry siblings! Bree is a 1.5 to 2 years old hound/lab mix that was born with only three legs and a gentle disposition. She has no issues at all playing, walking, or just living life as a happy healthy girl. In fact, you have to look closely at her hind legs to see there is only one. This sweetie loves car rides, playing with toys in the yard or on her comfy dog bed and getting human love! She also likes other dogs, kids and even cats but doesn't require them to be the joyful girl she is. What does need and crave the most? Her people's love! If you can open your heart, she can definitely fill it! Sadly Bree's past was filled with most of her day and night being spent alone in a crate which has resulted in her not like being confined in one. She will go in for short periods of time but we are wanting this girl to experience life without fear of a confinement. So please no applications that require her being placed in a crate but most of our other dogs are, so we do have lots of other options. To help with this Bree is wonderful enough that she has not damaged anything in her foster home being left out with toys and a dog bed all day. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals.
