Jenny

My story

Jenny loves water – swimming or splashing in a pond or baby pool, or she will jump right in to the tub too! Jenny enjoys tug of war and fetch, but also just chasing around her friends. Jenny is friendly to other dogs and really enjoys doggie play dates where she can run; however, she can be food aggressive so its best if her and her buddies are monitored while chewing on anything edible. Jenny is working on leash training. When not given a long lead, she does better at staying close. Jenny is also working on house training, she will usually signal to go outside by waiting at the front door, but she likes her people to be enjoy the outdoors with her, so sometimes she will wait for you to join her before getting her business done. Jenny is friendly around other people, and is a good alert dog. She does like to greet you by getting close to your face, so small children can be overwhelmed by her welcoming them to the home. She loves kids though, especially the kind that will play tug of war with her. Jenny will sleep on your bed if you’d like, but also likes to den up small underneath your bed when possible. She enjoys finding that “just right” bed that she can curl up into. She will chase rabbits and small critters, and the indoor cat sometimes also gets chased, but only for a sniff of greeting. Since many of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes, appointments are highly recommended to ensure the animal you are interested in is currently at the shelter. Our adoption fees include the following: all of our dogs/puppies are current on vaccinations (DHPP and Rabies if over 3 months of age) at the point of adoption, dewormed, heartworm tested and current on preventative, microchipped, treated for fleas/ticks and are spayed or neutered. Our large dog adoption fee is generally $175 + tax. Our small dog and puppy adoption fee is generally $275+ tax. Adoption fees may vary in special circumstances. Due to space limitations, we do not hold dogs. Because we are on a busy street, we require that all dogs leaving the shelter be in a carrier or on leash. All pets remain up for adoption until an approved application is processed and their adoption fee paid.
