My story

Say hello to Pedro Pawscal, a charming, goofy, 2-year-old pup who’s equal parts strong and snuggly! Pedro is a big boy with an even bigger heart—and while he may look tough, he’s truly just a softie who wants love, scratches, and a cozy spot to hang out. Pedro loves going for walks and is learning to be a polite leash walker. He may start out a little excited, but once he gets into the groove, he settles in nicely. He also enjoys his daily "pawtrol" from the deck—his way of keeping the neighborhood safe and sniff-checked. He gets along well with larger dogs and would do best in a home with canine companions closer to his size. No small dogs, cats or kids under 16, please—Pedro needs a calm, predictable environment with adults or older teens who understand dog behavior and boundaries. Now, let’s talk toys: Pedro is very passionate about them—especially his favorite big Chuck-It ball. He’ll gently nudge it to you for a game of kick-and-chase! But he does struggle with resource guarding when it comes to most other toys and bones. He’s currently working on this with the help of training, positive associations, and muzzling during play. His future home should be committed to continuing that work with patience and consistency. Pedro hasn’t had the easiest start, but every day he shows more trust and love. With the right person—someone experienced, patient, and understanding—he’s going to be an incredible companion.
