My story

Meet Mario – a 7-month-old adventurer with soulful eyes, hidden depth, and just a little bit of dramatic flair. He might not jump into your arms right away, but give him a little time (and plenty of treats), and he’ll be zooming toward your heart faster than a kart on Rainbow Road.Like his video game namesake, Mario is brave beneath the surface—even if he’s still learning how to show it. He might throw out a nervous hiss or two when things feel a little Bowser-level scary, but it’s all part of his cautious charm. Once he trusts you, his goofy, snack-loving side shines through, complete with meows that rival any power-up sound.Mario is great with other cats and would likely do just fine with a respectful dog after a slow introduction. Because he's still navigating his own adventure, he’d do best in a home with older kids (5+) and patient humans who understand that not every hero starts out fearless.He may not be rescuing princesses (or at least not yet), but Mario’s on his own journey—and he's looking for a teammate who’ll cheer him on every step of the way.___________________________Please complete an adoption application if you are interested in adopting from Ten Lives! Due to limited volunteer power, applications submitted for cats or kittens no longer available will not be reviewed. About Ten Lives:Ten Lives Cat Rescue is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization located in Rhode Island. Our foster-based program is 100% volunteer-powered. We do not have a facility or shelter with regular visiting hours. Out of respect for the time, privacy, and safety of our foster families, we require an approved adoption application before scheduling a meet and greet with a foster cat. Our goal is to place cats in their best-matched homes and facilitate lifelong adoptions. We do not review applications on a first-come, first-serve basis. We believe that veterinary care is an important part of cat guardianship. As such, a veterinary check is part of our adoption process. Our goal is to contact applicants within 96 business hours of receiving their application. During kitten season, wait times may be longer due to the influx of applications. We are all volunteers and kindly ask for your patience! All Ten Lives cats are spayed or neutered, receive age-appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLv and parasites, dewormed, treated for fleas, and microchipped. These services are inclusive of the adoption fee.
