My story

Steven is a sweet and affectionate cat looking for his forever home. Despite being FIV+, he’s full of life and loves to play—especially with his water dish! He’s also a total chatterbox who loves to talk up a storm, whether you’re listening or not. Steven has a hernia that, due to the risks involved, the vet has decided not to remove—but it doesn’t slow him down one bit. FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) might sound scary, but it’s not a death sentence. FIV+ cats like Steven can live long, healthy lives with just a little extra care. The virus affects the immune system, so he should be kept indoors and monitored for signs of illness, but many FIV+ cats live just as long as non-FIV cats. It’s also not easily spread—it’s mainly transmitted through deep bite wounds, so Steven can safely live with other friendly cats.
