Adopters must be committed to his ongoing training to help him be his best self. Fig would do best in a home with older, dog savvy children at this time. He currently weighs about 40 pounds.Fig`s foster family recently shared: `Fig is curious, eager to please, and loves learning new things. He has lots of puppy energy, but once he’s worn out after exercising and training, he is all about cuddling with his humans or his dog housemates. Thankfully, his foster dog sister doesn’t mind him occasionally snoozing on her! He’s very smart and is picking up basic obedience commands quickly and learning about boundaries. He is both food and toy-motivated and doesn’t react when we take his food bowl away with food in it or when our dogs are near it while he eats. However if a meal is late, he can be very vocal/opinionated about its tardiness. As a typical puppy, Fig loves chewing on just about anything that fits in his mouth as he is learning the preferred option is dog toys. He also enjoys the occasional game of tug-of-war and loves spending time outside in the backyard, either running around or napping in the sun with his dog foster siblings. He has quickly picked up leash walking with an Easy Walk harness and does great walking with our dogs. He also enjoys meeting new people, neighborhood dog-savvy kids, and other dogs while out on a walk.Fig sleeps well in his crate at night, though crate training during the day is still a work in progress. Potty training is also improving as he is having fewer accidents each day.Fig is looking forward to meeting his forever family who will love him and be patient with him while continuing his training through his puppy phase.`
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Fig, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
