[The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Smokey is a gentle giant who walked well on a leash with minimal pulling and often checked in with the handler. He responded to cues like `sit,` `paw/shake,` `wait,` and `come,` but would vocalize if rewards were delayed. During play, he interacted appropriately with people, showing joy while running but tiring quickly. He engaged with a plush toy and briefly showed interest in a tennis ball.Throughout the assessment, Smokey maintained great stability and was mostly unbothered by noises. He was excited to meet new people and interacted well with Heather, showing curiosity without rude behaviors.
