Rocco

My story

Meet Rocco! This special little guy is about 4 years old, less than 15lbs and some type of floofy terrier/poodle type mix we are guessing. He had a previous back injury and was paralyzed but with time was able to mostly recover. He still has some ataxia in his hind legs but they aren't painful, and he gets around pretty well but sometimes his back legs will slide out when first getting up or on slippery surfaces. He's a very sweet boy, a little shy at first but warms up fast. He hasn't had any exposure to other dogs and puts on a tough guy show of barking when he sees them on walks, but is mostly afraid and tries to avoid them. Because of his previous back injury he can be more prone to future issues, so his adopters should have him avoid jumping off furniture or going up and down stairs too much and make sure he doesn't get overweight to help keep extra strain off his back. But he doesn't mind being picked up and carried and should be able to learn to use a ramp easily!
