My story

How this pet arrived: Julie was brought in by a community member on May 9, 2025.Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Julie, a resilient and affectionate feline who's traded street smarts for sofa snuggles. This lovely lady was found outside with an injury that required a bit of orthopedic magic - specifically, a Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO). In non-vet speak, that means her hip joint got a makeover to help her move comfortably and pain-free. Thanks to the skill of her veterinary team and a whole lot of courage on her part, Julie is already on the mend and ready to write her next chapter-this time with a soft bed, sunny windowsills, and lots of love. Julie is a total sweetheart. She leans in for pets, enjoys attention, and is all about that indoor life now. While she's still recovering, she's already showing how ready she is to get back on her paws-literally. Wand toys are a great way to gently encourage her to move around and stretch those legs, and she's more than willing to give it a try (especially if there's a treat involved). She may walk with a bit of a strut now, but it just adds to her charm. Her post-surgery care is straightforward: no stitches to remove, just a little e-collar modeling until her incision heals (estimated around 5/23). Gentle range-of-motion exercises and encouragement to use her leg are all part of the plan, and any further physical therapy needs can be discussed with your vet if you want to go the extra mile. Julie is a great candidate for a home that can offer her a calm recovery space, some playtime, and a lot of love. If you're ready for a sweet, spirited cat who's overcome a bump in the road and is more than ready to be pampered, Julie is your girl. She's got the heart of a survivor, the affection of a lap cat, and a future that's looking bright. Primary Color: Seal Point Weight: 6.5 Age: 3yrs 0mths 1wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Julie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
