🐾 Meet Rex – Your Next Loyal Adventure Buddy (with Some Big Aussie Energy) 📍 3 Years Old • 45 lbs • Standard Aussie ✅ Neutered • Crate & Potty Trained • Leash Walker 🧠 Smart • Affectionate • Athletic • Needs Experienced, Breed-Savvy Home Rex is one of those dogs you don’t forget — handsome, sharp as a tack, and full of personality. He’s playful, clever, snuggly when he wants to be, and absolutely lives for attention. Whether it’s going for a walk, hopping in the car, or playing with his toys, Rex is all in. He gets along well with his foster sister (also an Aussie!) and thrives with structure, routine, and positive reinforcement. He’s completely house-trained, crate-trained, doesn’t chew on anything he shouldn’t, and knows commands like “sit,” “shake,” and “go get a toy.” He even prefers to sleep in his crate at night, door open, totally content. But — let’s be real — Rex isn’t a dog for just anyone. He’s a high-drive, independent thinker who needs an experienced, patient adopter who understands herding breeds and canine communication. Rex gets overexcited during certain transitions (like putting on a harness) and can be vocal and mouthy when he’s overstimulated or guarding a prized possession. He has shown some guarding behavior when overly aroused and has snapped when boundaries weren’t clearly respected. 👉 Because of this, Rex needs: An adult-only home (no small kids) A confident, calm, dog-savvy owner who can read his signals A home without large dogs — Rex prefers smaller dogs or companions his size Someone who can offer continued training and structure, and who won't take things personally when Rex "talks with his teeth" At his core, Rex is a great dog with so much potential — playful, loyal, goofy, and a total lovebug on his terms.
