Meet Youngi, a 4-year-old spayed female Jindo mix with a lovely brown and white coat, weighing 19kg and standing 52cm tall at the shoulder. She was rescued from euthanasia in March 2022 and has been waiting patiently for her forever home ever since. Now she’s come to us, ready to find the family she truly deserves. Youngi is incredibly affectionate and social with people. Whether you’re a familiar face or someone she’s just met, she’ll happily approach, lean in for pets, and even offer up her belly for rubs. She’s sweet and gentle with both men and women and is wonderfully kind with children under 13. You can even pick her up with an arm under her belly—she doesn’t mind a bit. She’s the kind of dog who instantly makes you feel like you’ve known her forever. Her friendly nature extends to other dogs, too. Youngi is a social butterfly who loves meeting new canine friends and will readily approach both big and small dogs to say hello and invite them to play. She’s comfortable with high-energy pups and knows how to walk away gracefully if another dog gets too rough or reactive. She gets along well with almost everyone and enjoys being part of the fun. While Youngi hasn’t lived with cats, she has encountered them at the vet—and her response was to nervously seek comfort from people rather than show any aggression. Cat testing may be possible, but she clearly prefers to keep her distance for now. She has a moderate energy level and enjoys outdoor activities, social play, and spending time with her human companions. She’s enthusiastic about walks, games, and anything that involves bonding with her people, so she’d thrive with an active adopter who can match her love for engagement and movement. Youngi is great on leash and doesn’t pull—she enjoys a walk that’s all about connection with her person. She also doesn’t guard her food with people or dogs, though she does have a healthy appetite and loves her treats. She shows no signs of separation anxiety and is calm when crated. While she’s not the type to jump into the car on her own, she’ll happily let you carry her in for the ride. She’s fully outdoor potty trained. Youngi is an affectionate, lively, and well-mannered pup who’s been waiting far too long for her chance. She’s ready to bring joy, playfulness, and love into a forever home of her own. Send in your application today through our website https://adoptmekoreanrescue.org/adoption-application/ She can arrive at Vancouver or Toronto airport and may be able to arrive at some US airports (Seattle, LA, NY, Boston etc) where we have flight volunteers.
