Sir Diesel

My story

Sir Diesel is a calm, senior gentleman who recently found himself in the shelter after being lovingly surrendered due to his owner's health issues. At 9 years old, he’s mellow and well-mannered. Sir Diesel walks gently on leash and isn’t bothered by barking dogs, though he can be a little shy and sensitive. He’s not currently interested in toys or treats, he rather enjoys quiet companionship and takes comfort in a calm environment. Sir Diesel is looking for a soft place to land with someone who appreciates a loyal, low-energy companion. I tried to lasso him but it seemed his ears were very sensitive and he kept shaking anytime the leash would hit is head. I made my leash as big as possible so the leash wouldn’t hit his ears and that seemed to work. Once leashed he hopped out of his kennel with no issues. Leash: minimal pulling Handling: Sir diesel walks really well on leash with minimal pulling. He walks slower and dogs barking at him doesn’t seem to bother him at all. In the adoption room he was very whiny and kind of kept his distance. He allowed all handling but I did not touch near his ears as I already knew they were sensitive. When petting him he did lip lick a little showing that he was uncomfortable or he would just walk away. He had no interest in treats, play or toys. He seemed to exit search a lot and couldn’t settle down. Toys: no interest Play: no interest 05/18/2025 staff notes: Dog was fine until owners left, when ACA took the leash he was whale eyeing, low growling and planted himself on the floor wouldn't budge, had to be leashed around backside and guided to kennel ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in.
