EMERALD

My story

Emerald came to us along with 7 other dogs who were saved from a hoarding situation. Due to conditions they were living in, they were not very socialized with humans, making them fearful and cautious. While Emerald has been here since April, he is still figuring out how to trust humans. He has made such great progress, letting people handle him more and more every day. He is definitely a dog that is going to take time to adjust until he becomes comfortable with you. Emerald needs an adopter that can be patient with him and let him come out of his shell. He needs a quiet home with adults only where he can decompress and learn how to be a companion again. Emerald also would do best with another dog that he can look to for comfort and guidance. Emerald has been in foster with a staff member that he trusts and loves! She has told us that once he opens up he is very sweet and mellow. He loves to play fetch, is good in the car, and will even cuddle up with you. He is also food motivated which helps to win him over.
