My story

Hi, my name is Poppy! I’m an approximately 6½-month-old female with a heart full of love, energy and a tail that never stops wagging. My foster family thinks I’m a Canaan/Heeler mix, and I’ll likely stay on the smaller side—under 50 lbs—when I’m all grown up. I’m spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all my vaccinations. I’m also crate trained, house trained, and walk nicely on a leash. I know my basic commands like “sit,” “stay,” and “down”—pretty impressive for a young pup, right? I can be a little shy when meeting new people, but I warm up quickly and will soon be your loyal little shadow. I’m currently being fostered with other dogs from 12 to 70 lbs, and I love to play with them! I might have a bit of Heeler in me because I have a silly habit of trying to “herd” my doggie friends when we’re racing around the yard. Like any growing puppy, I need plenty of exercise, toys, and walks to keep me happy and healthy. I’d probably do best with kiddos over 8 and might really enjoy having an older dog sibling to look up to. Once I’ve had my playtime, I’m all about the snuggles—I love being close to my humans and will happily curl up next to you for some chill time.
