My story

Henri: A very sweet and social boy! He greets strangers at the door, likes belly rubs, and really loves to play! Henri is a sweet, affectionate friend that will make a lovely companion for right adopter. He will need someone patient, understanding of his history, committed to him being the only pet in the home, and able to follow a strict plan for a slow introduction to the house to help him be as successful as possible. Ideal adopters will express an understanding that patience is the name of the game here, and that Henri will do best going as slow as possible. Henri will need to start out in a pee proof space, ideally a small, single room. This can be a small bedroom or larger bathroom or walk-in closet, but would ideally be a space where he can comfortably decompress after his transition out of the original home and shelter stay. The space should be easy to clean with enzymatic cleaners if an accident should happen. Adopters should be comfortable with confining him in his space for as long as it takes for him to be displaying calm confident, affiliative body language and be using his litter box 100% reliably for several days in a row. Adopters should plan for no less than two weeks, but it could take longer for him to settle in and use the box reliably. Once Henri is ready to move beyond the initial confinement space, his adopters should be prepared to give slow/incremental access to the rest of the home. This may involve small outings into the rest of the house with most doors closed, or simply allowing for access to one additional room at a time over the course of a few weeks (or longer). Henri is currently on Fluoxetine as an anti-anxiety medication. A 30-day supply will be provided upon adoption. This is a prescription medication and will need to be obtained from your vet. Henri had a dental procedure with extractions for teeth with resorptive lesions. Information about dental resorption in cats will be provided to interested adopters. Compatibility:Dogs: No thank you!Cats: No thank you!Kids: No thank you! If you think Henri could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by our Nevin`s Farm Adoption Center in Methuen. We have open adoption hours Tuesday - Sunday from 12:00 pm - 4:30 pm with no appointment or application needed. You are welcome to enter our cat rooms during open hours. Staff and volunteers will be happy to assist you.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt HENRI, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
