My story

Bailey (5-year-old father) & Leo (3-year-old son) are two darling Golden Retrievers who have lived together for three years and are looking for a family who would love to have two big, sweet babies who love to keep each other company. They are good with children, cats, and dogs. One is never far from the other, whether playing or cuddling up to sleep. They are looking for a family with a fenced yard so they can play and run around. They are overweight, so a family who will walk them and chase balls in the yard, as well as continue to give them small portions of food so they don't have hip problems later on. They are calm dogs who can be free in the house without making a mess. They love lying in the yard and feeling the wind on their beautiful faces. They enjoy car rides, water, walks, searching for treats, chewing on bones, and socializing with both dogs and humans. They have delicate digestion and do not eat table food. They are quiet, excited/enthusiastic dogs who calm down quickly, for example, when welcomed, in a stimulating environment, or playing. They are very gentle with babies and children. They easily recognize their own toys from those of the children and are very respectful of the family's belongings. They enjoy hygiene care, such as brushing their teeth, brushing, and cleaning their ears. Nail trimming is less easy (professional groomer). Bailey (the ginger, father of 5 years old) loves to play fetch. He asks you to by barking softly. He is a good dog who is patient and gentle. He obeys recall and walks very well on a harness and leash. He responds well to commands, sounds, and gestures (no bark, come, soft, fetch, sit, lie down, stay, back up, roll over, catch, pow, etc.). He is a little more anxious and fearful by nature than Leo, but his stress isn't too much of a hindrance. He loves to fetch the ball and generally shares toys well with Leo. Leo (the blond, 3-year-old son) is also a good dog who is a little less delicate when he passes but is gentle by nature. He loves to tease Bailey (his dad) but Bailey teases him back. Being younger Leo is more energetic, he has a more dominant character too. He walks well with a halti. (Bailey is more docile and Leo is strong and more resistant to walking, but a halti helps a lot. He needs a fenced area or a leash because he's more exploratory than Bailey. He's very gentle, very clingy. He's more vocal than Bailey when he's excited, but it's harmless. He responds well during calming interventions. He obeys well, but he still needs some practice. He obeys commands, sounds, and gestures (no barking, sit, lie down, stay, catch, soft, sit properly, and lie down properly, as he does the frog legs). They are both sterilised, vaccinated, microchipped, treated for fleas and ticks, and will come with their up-to-date medical records. Sometimes it takes a little longer for a dog to warm up to us. You may see them reveal more and more of their personality over the first few days, weeks, or even months. We don't know everything they went through before being rescued, but they are so forgiving and loving that every difficult moment is worth it. Developing a trusting relationship with your rescued dog is essential. Stability, patience, positive reinforcement, and love are the most important values.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Leo, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
