OH MY GOODNESS! Y'all there is nothing that I love more than a squishy, blockheaded beefcake and Bubba Wubba is exactly that! He has the type of face that makes you almost get that uncontrollable urge to squeeze their squishy little face, as if their cuteness is to much for your heart to handle --- like your love for them is just bursting out in an adorable, squishy explosion! That's what it's like when you meet Bubba Wubba. You know it's ridiculous, but you just can't help but want to smoosh them because he's that adorable. We haven't even gotten to all of the best parts though! There is SO much to love about him, watch his video and you'll be just as obsesses with him as we are: https://youtu.be/RbNkqqZ-aHI?si=EJtBHDd1x-9qerL3 Bubba is a Pittie mix approximately 2 years old and currently weighs 68 lbs. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue dog, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Don't you love him already?! We do too! One thing you probably noticed and what I love the most about him is how gentle he is and how adaptable his energy is. You can get him super hyped and excited, get him to get the zoomies but the second that you let him know it's time to calm down, he does. Even when you do get him super excited and start to rough play with him, he is gentle and wasn't ever too much or ever gave the impression that he was going to jump on me. He does however like to sit in your lap if you're sitting on the floor LOL. Bubba is a wanna be lap dog and a big baby. He is also a toy lover! Bubba loves to play fetch, tug of war, and is easily entertained with a squeaky toy. He will carry a squeaker toy in his mouth and just squeak away until it no longer squeaks LOL. He also loves stuffy toys and shaking them with all his might! So be prepared for the occasional fluff explosion stuffy crime scene haha because that will happen. If you want him to savor his new plush toy that you just got him or that rubber chew toy, he is very easy going about people taking his toys away even when he is actively chewing on it (which is shown in his video). I a had not problems taking his tennis ball away or the stuffy toy that was de-fluffed. He listened when I would tell him to drop the toy and also wasn't persistent with me on giving it back to him. Bubba is very dog friendly and does great with dogs his size and also dogs 10x smaller than him! He has been in play groups with up to at least 10 dogs all with different personalities and play styles and he does great with them all. He is great about matches energies with other dogs and will play with other dogs that want to play and is perfectly content doing his own thing around dogs that don't want to play. When he does play, he loves to engage in those rumble and tumble wrestling matches and very tolerant of them too. He also enjoys romping around in the yard with the other dogs and bouncing along side with them. Bubba is good about taking play breaks on his own, is happy to share affection with other dogs around, and is comfortable sharing treats with other dogs and toys! He's a just a generous boy that way. In a home, he will do best with a medium energy confident lady friend that enjoys playtime and also appreciates hanging out as well. He also isn't the type of dog that needs another dog in the home to help him feel comfortable or fulfill his energy needs. He loves everyone that he meets and will be just as happy playing a game of fetch with his humans in the backyard. Bubba was a little too interested in our house cat biggie and would do best in a home with no kitty friends. Bubba is not only good looking and very dog friendly, but he's super smart too!! He already knows a handful of basic commands such as sit, knows how to play fetch, and seems to have a general understanding of paw, down, and spin! Bubba is also crate trained, potty trained, and has great house manners! He immediately made himself feel right at home and never got into anything he wasn't suppose to be. Even if he did, he is very responsive to his people and listens to corrections. Bubba is fairly easy to walk on a leash and only needed very subtle leash corrections to encourage him to keep walking if he was sniffing a spot for too long. We can see a lot of adventures and outdoor exploring with this guy! He loves to stop and smell the roses and really enjoys the outdoors. Especially if water is involved! He loves the water and will never pass up an opportunity to dip his paws in and cool off. Get your beach towels packed because Bubba is already in the car ready for the beach (or lake). If you don't have a beach, lake or access to water anywhere close, we're sure he will be just as happy with a little kiddie pool in the backyard. Speaking of yards, we do believe that Bubba would thrive and do best in a home with a backyard. A place where he can romp around, get the occasional zoomies, play fetch with his humans, and sunbathe during those nice summer days. Although we haven't seen Bubba with kids just yet, we do believe he would make a great family dog from what we have seen so far. We are willing to test Bubba with anything you need us to in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
