My story

Libby and 16 of her siblings were surrendered to Rico when the owner had to leave her home. Libby has been groomed and looks like a beautiful girl now. You can see the picture of the condition in which she was surrendered. Libby is a very sweet girl. She is shy when she meets new people but she does not take long to warm up. It is very typical for dogs coming from hoarding cases to be under-socialized because they are not getting the one on one attention that they need to grow and gain confidence. Libby has made great progress in her foster home. She has gained in confidence and shows her playful and loving self! Her foster mom even took her to a meeting and Libby sat calmly on the lap of a person she had just met for an hour. Libby is still not comfortable in loud environments and around large dogs. Libby would prefer a quiet home with no small children and with dogs who are similar in size to her. Libby would prefer a fenced yard as we are concerned that she could potentially be a flight risk. Libby has done very well in her foster home and is progressing in her potty training and leash training. Libby is crate trained. Libby is looking for a family that will understand that she comes from difficult circumstances and will be patient with her to allow her to get over her fears and to shed her layers of trauma. The adopters will be rewarded with endless love, cuddles and kisses.Libby is up to date on her shots and has been spayed. Libby is a Powderpuff Chinese Crested and is estimated to be around 6-8 years old.You can apply to meet Libby at ricopetrecovery.org. The adoption fee for Libby is $200.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Libby, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
