My story

Cricket is a happy, bouncy girl eager for love! Cricket is estimated to be around a year old and is the perfect mix of fun and chill. She doesn't believe in personal space and is more than happy to be your personal lap warmer. She loves everyone she meets and would be the perfect petite companion for anyone needing some extra zest in their life. Cricket is fully grown and weighs about 11lbs. She is slightly underweight and would benefit from gaining a little bit more weight to fill out. Cricket came to us from a local shelter after she was found as a stray. She was never claimed by an owner, so we were more than happy to scoop her up, and she has been doing great in a YCSPCA foster home. She hasn't been with us long, so we are still learning about her, but she has already won our hearts with her fun and loving personality. Cricket got her name as she is a bouncy girl who is always down for whatever the day holds. She loves her walks and playing with squeaky toys, but she also loves to cuddle and will curl right up in the blankets with you. She is a total social butterfly who is quick to make friends wherever she goes. Cricket is a well-mannered girl and has been doing well learning her basic manners. Her new family will need to be committed to helping her learn.  Crickets has done well meeting other small dogs, and has adjusted her energy level to be playful with more active dogs and polite with older dogs. She could do well with a home with another small dog, or she would be more than happy to be your one and only - more cuddles for her! Cricket has done well meeting cats and could do well living with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Cricket could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 7 years and older. Cricket is still working on her house-training and seems to only like to potty in a yard (not on walks). Her new family will need to be patient with her while she is learning and be consistent about taking her outside and rewarding her when she potties outside. Cricket has been doing very well in her crate overnight and when home alone for short periods. Cricket is such a sweet girl, and she can't wait to meet her fur-ever family. If you think that might be you, submit an adoption application today!   Cricket's adoption fee is $250.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. June 2, 2025, 9:53 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Cricket, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
