My story

Meet Myrtle. At almost 8 years old, she was surrendered into our care by her previous owner due to allergies. Like many cats who suddenly find themselves in a shelter, she was understandably scared and overwhelmed. At first, she kept her distance, hissing and unsure of her new surroundings. But with time, patience, and kindness, Myrtle began to blossom. Now, she`s a sweet and affectionate girl who enjoys gentle attention and has learned to love and trust again. She may need a little time to adjust when she enters a new home—she craves routine and transitions can be tough for her, especially after leaving the comforts of a familiar place—but once she feels safe, Myrtle shows just how loving and loyal she can be. Myrtle is a big snuggler once she gets to know you. She loves windows, sunbathing & fleece blankets. Myrtle is a special needs adoption due to her being diagnosed with a previous episode of high blood sugar & sugar in her urine. This condition has been managed and resolved with a prescription diet that we recommend she stays on unless told otherwise by your veterinarian. Myrtle gets very car sick, so we kindly ask that if you choose to adopt her after your visit, please plan to pick her up the following day. This allows us time to work with our vet team to give her some medication to help with nausea and make the ride easier & more comfortable for her.Please be aware that Myrtle needs to be the ONLY pet in the home.Does Myrtle sound like the right fit for you?
