My story

Sweet Sonya is a middle-aged adult kitty seeking a loving and relaxing home! She is adorable and enjoys some good head scritches. Sonya came to the shelter as a transfer from one of our rescue partners. She would love a caring family to dote on her and some warm sun beams to nap in. At her previous rescue, Sonya tested positive for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV). Cats with FIV can live long happy lives with a little extra care! This virus can affect the immune system, so it is recommended for adopters to pursue veterinary care as needed. Sonya has an upcoming dental cleaning scheduled, all costs covered, courtesy of our sister organization Friends of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter. Sonya`s dental cleaning still needs to be scheduled but her adoptive family should be assured that Sonya’s pearly whites will be cleaned in no time! She just needs a ride to and from her appointment. We are sure you and your family will adore Sonya just as much as we do here at the shelter. Come meet and adopt Sonya the beautiful cat, today! If you`d like to meet our available pets, please check the `shelter information` box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours!
