My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Sonnet: Tiny Brainiac in a Furry Bodysuit Hold onto your socks (and hide them, seriously) — because here comes Sonnet, a 3 month old female Doberman prodigy in black and rust, with the kind of cuteness that should be illegal in all 50 states. She’s got legs too big for her body, ears that don’t know what they’re doing yet, and a brain that’s already plotting how to unlock the treat jar from across the room. This isn’t just any puppy. This is a canine Einstein in the making. Sonnet is sharp, observant, and already trying to solve quantum physics while you’re struggling to find your coffee. She’s part snugglebug, part velociraptor, and all-in on being the overachiever of your household. Potty training? Oh, you’ll be doing it. A lot. Frequently. Possibly at 3 a.m. while saying things like “HOW can something so small pee THIS much?” But hey, at least Sonnet will be watching your form, grading you silently, and probably giving you a B+ for effort. Like her sister Rhyme, Sonnet is a Doberman Pinscher, AKA a working dog, AKA a fitness model with ADHD who requires a job, structure, enrichment, and maybe a small business to run on the side. If you’re looking for a couch potato… keep scrolling. This girl wants tasks, training, adventure, and 401(k) matching. Requirements to be Sonnet’s forever person: Fenced yard – Not “I’ll walk her when I get home” energy. Think secure perimeter to contain the future Olympic sprinter. Stable home – If your idea of “structure” is a half-inflated air mattress and a dream, we love that for you… but not for Sonnet. Commitment – This isn't a fling. You're signing up for a 10-15 year relationship with the smartest goofball you’ll ever meet. Willingness to crate train, attend obedience classes, and socialize at daycare, playdates, or puppy book club. Desire to engage in fun activities like: Puzzle toys (which she’ll solve in under 30 seconds) Agility courses (where you will trip, and she will fly) Hiking, running, biking, or literally any job you invent for her Learning ridiculous tricks just for TikTok glory Sonnet is here to make your life fuller, funnier, and possibly more complicated in the best way. She’s sweet, spicy, and smarter than your last three exes combined. If you're ready for a life of love, laughter, and licking (mostly your face), apply to adopt Sonnet today. Available end of June! United Doberman Rescue: We bring you dogs smarter than most of your coworkers. www.uniteddobermanrescue.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.United Doberman Rescue Adoption Process Application Submission: Complete the adoption application thoroughly. All household members, including children, must be present.(uniteddobermanrescue.org) Veterinary Reference Check: Provide contact information for your current veterinarian. All existing pets must be spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, and on heartworm preventative.(uniteddobermanrescue.org) Meeting Dogs: Once approved, you'll have the opportunity to meet adoptable dogs in their foster homes. If you have a resident dog, consult with the foster about bringing them along. Adoption Finalization: If a suitable match is found, you'll sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Due to COVID-19 precautions, same-day adoptions are currently permitted.  Key Adoption Policies Age Requirement: Adopters must be at least 21 years old and reside in the home where the dog will live.(uniteddobermanrescue.org) WE do NOT ship our dogs ever!!! Children: Adult dogs are not placed in homes with children under 6 years old. Puppies may be considered for such homes if a fenced yard is present.(uniteddobermanrescue.org) Health Considerations: Dobermans are prone to certain health issues. Adopters should be financially prepared for potential veterinary expenses and consider pet insurance. Return Policy: If you're unable to keep your adopted dog, UDR requires the dog be returned to them, except in cases involving aggression or biting.(uniteddobermanrescue.org) {s8319code4181/}  We follow the Doberman Pinscher Club of America's Code of Ethics. For more information visit the DPCA at www.dpca.org July 13, 2025, 10:39 pm
