Meet Coby, the quiet queen of calm cuddles! Coby is the definition of low-key perfection. With her silky soft fur, wise eyes, and the kind of maturity that only comes with a seasoned soul, she’s the calm, cuddly companion your home has been missing. She’s not pushy for attention, more like the type to quietly find the coziest corner or gently lean into you for some love when the mood is right. We believe Coby is a Texas special and is about 4 years old. What’s a Texas special? A little dash of this breed and a little sprinkle of that breed. It all comes with the package of rescuing a dog from the overbreeding that Houston is struggling with. We see a bit of yellow lab and terrier in her. But due to her being a rescue, age and breed are not guaranteed. She is a cutie though, that is for sure! Check out Coby below! https://youtu.be/OcBb1eTdGi0 As far as other dogs in the home, she’s happy to share her space with a low to medium energy dog and doesn’t mind letting them take center stage. Coby is perfectly content playing the role of background bestie. During her visit with us, she existed calmly while the other dogs played around her. She didn’t try to get in the chaos but also didn’t run away from it. Think of her as the ultimate NPC while your other pup lives their main character fantasy. Or, if you’re looking for a solo sidekick, she’d happily soak up all the affection without needing to share. The funniest moment during our time together was seeing how she became a completely different dog when we brought our lunch out. We were eating pizza and it was clear that Coby wanted a piece of the pie. But the best part was that she didn’t try to steal it from us. She just looked at us with those beautiful eyes of hers and waited until the offer was extended to her. Then she gently took a bite when we finally caved. She has excellent house manners and would be a great dinner guest! Or if you wanted to take her to the local food stops, she would be a great foodie companion! If you have kids, Coby would be happy to keep them company! She was incredibly sweet with our seven-year-old, Cash! She may not be the one to initiate a game of tug of war, but if your kiddos want a buddy to snuggle while watching a movie, or a friend to join them in playing tea party, Coby would be happy to oblige. When it comes to cats, Coby coexisted with our housecat Biggie like a pro, never bothered and always respectful of his presence. Due to her demeanor and her reaction, we feel that Coby could definitely be a good fit for a home with dog savvy cats. Overall, Coby is such a treat. She is so low key and down to just vibe. She was really something special! If you're in the market for a calm, cuddly companion who doesn’t ask for much but gives plenty in return, Coby’s your girl. Ready to add Coby to your life? Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
